Estudiamos los ecosistemas en forma integral, con el objetivo de desarrollar herramientas de manejo, conservación y restauración de los recursos naturales y servicios ecosistémicos. Nuestros proyectos abarcan distintos aspectos de la biología y ecología de pastizales naturales, ecosistemas agrícola-ganaderos, humedales costeros y ecosistemas marino-costeros del sudoeste de la Provincia de Buenos Aires.

Líneas de Investigación

  • Ecología de pastizales naturales: estudiamos el impacto de disturbios como el pastoreo, el fuego o la sequía sobre la composición y atributos funcionales de los pastizales naturales.
  • Restauración de pastizales naturales: evaluamos la posibilidad de mejoramiento y restauración de pastizales naturales a través del agregado de semillas de especies nativas.
  • Productividad en ecosistemas agrícola-ganaderos: estudiamos la biología y ecología de pastos palatables y no palatables en sistemas ganaderos.
  • Secuestro de carbono en humedales costeros: cuantificamos las vías de secuestro y las transformaciones del carbono orgánico en marismas y planicies de marea
  • Dinámica de la clorofila en el sector sur del ecosistema costero bonaerense: utilizamos la concentración de clorofila como proxy para evaluar la productividad de aguas costeras del sur bonaerense y su relación con los recursos para la pesca artesanal.
  • Teledetección cuantitativa: desarrollamos herramientas de teledetección cuantitativa para el monitoreo de funciones ecosistémicas en ambientes terrestres y marino-costeros del sur bonaerense.
