The Centro de Recursos Naturales Renovables de la Zona Semiárida (CERZOS) was created in 1980 by the Universidad Nacional del Sur (UNS) and the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) of Argentina. Located in the semiarid south-western region of the Province of Buenos Aires, its main economic activities are the petrochemical industry, agriculture and livestock, and diversified small and medium size enterprises activities in food production, metal mechanics, services and logistics, as well as commercial activities. Based on the characteristics of the region, CERZOS has developed into a research institution that generates, disseminates and applies scientific and technological knowledge for the sustainable management of the natural resources of the ecological systems within the semiarid arable and non-arable region of Argentina and for the production of agro-food products. For this reason, it currently provides a wide range of services and consultancy, whose technological offer is mainly aimed at entities and industries that wish to increase their productivity in a sustainable way. |
